Gulmarg offers the best Virgin
Himalayan powder snow with clear blue skies and magnificent
views of the majestic peaks in the Himalayas which include Nun
Kun, Nanga Parbat & Mount K2 etc
Gulmarg has the highest
operational ski lifts in the world. Gondola Cable Car runs from
Gulmarg to Apharwat top, giving a downhill ski run of about 5
kms and a vertical descend of about 1500 meters. One more Ski
Chair lift runs parallel to Gondola and allows a skier to use
the most of the Apharwat Mountain for deep powder, piste, off
piste, back country runs. The resort has a well trained
and dedicated Ski Patrol team who are on the vigil all the time
with the most sophisticated equipment and are also responsible
for the Avalanche control. Besides, three ski lifts and one
chair lift also serves the resort, which are ideal for beginners
and intermediate-level skiing, respectively.
